Photos needed for mining-parts matching

A photo checklist that makes remote parts matching more reliable.

PRACTICAL CHECKLIST

Which photos should a buyer send for parts matching?

  1. One complete-part overview
  2. Nameplate and serial or casting numbers
  3. Front, rear, left and right sides
  4. Connectors, ports, flanges and mounting holes
  5. Damage area if failure diagnosis affects the request
  6. Dimensions photographed beside a ruler or caliper

Important: Do not crop out surrounding mounting details; they often help distinguish similar components.

SAMPLE APPROVAL & SUPPORTING EVIDENCE

What evidence is needed before approving a replacement mining part?

Match the part number to the machine make, model and serial, then compare markings, interfaces and dimensions. Record the requested condition and any proposed alternative. A reference number or photograph alone is not written fitment confirmation.

What to request from the supplier

Request item-specific compatibility confirmation, condition information and the inspection records required for the enquiry. Resolve unclear references before approving a replacement.
